Sam, thank you for your comment.
It probabaly sounds like a lot, because we cook and eat many different dishes -- Japanese, other Asian, and European/Middle Eastern etc. (Almost all Japanese housewives, whether they live in Japan nor not, do.)

However, you may realize that the some of the same ingredients are repeated (ex. brussel sprouts, cauliflower) which my husband gave make-over to already made dishes (we call it Kitchen Wizarding.) Some of the stuff are frozen (ex. seafood, sausages), and many produce lasts a while. We do live in a very convenient area, but only go shopping about once a week or less. It's definitely more difficult to live 30 mi. from the nearest supermarket, but you can still eat well if you know how to shop and use your ingredients efficiently. If you have any specific question, please feel free to ask -- preferably on Facebook Kitchen Wizard Fan Page: http://facebook.dj/KitchenWizard
Thanks, and I look forward to more of your comments and questions!
PS: I thought you live in Berkeley... Have you moved?

Wow! I am impressed. Not only by your husband, but also the foods you have on 'hand'. and I thought I had a well stocked larder! But then, I live 30 miles from the nearest supermarket. Fresh veggies are hard to come by.
